I agree with much of that. And what you typed (whether you recognized it) was the complexity we are dealing with. None of the top minds feel they can see the end game. They say so.

The establishement of the FDIC to ensure bank loans sure solved a huge problem and the US never lost a cent on the deal.

There are economic tricks like that, which smart governments can use.

Economics is one of many "interactive, adaptive systems" explained in a larger theory called "complex adaptive systems, in which individual elements, parts or agents interract, then process infomation and adapt their behavior to changing conditions."

Many scientists group ecnomics, evolution, law, immune systems, ecosystems, language and the internet into this larger theory.
