Could be. The U stocks I'm looking at are already off about 30%+ from their recent highs so I suppose they could get hit again but I suspect that the leveraged players got washed out a while ago and that people coming back in to the sector may be using a more conservative approach this time around (hopefully). On an anecdotal basis, individual investors I have spoken to have either stopped using margin or are using it far less than before. In any case, I am short the general market right now which will help to hedge the long positions.
