Sourdough starters---brings back memories.

Now, buy a head of cabbage----parboil some cabbage leaves fill the leaves with whatever you wish---------partially cooked rice, lightly browned ground beef, chopped fresh tomatoes, your favorite herbs, salt and fresh ground pepper.

Put filling in cabbage leaves and fold i.e. wrap the filling.

Place in baking dish----add water to cover the bottom of the dish----bake at about 350. (I prefer a rectangular baking dish--covered with aluminum foil to keep the moisture in)

Bake for how long----who knows---you be the judge!

If you want it to be Hawaiianesque-----chop some shrimp and forget the ground beef and tomatoes. Chop celery, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, onions or garlic----flavor lightly with soy sauce and either bake or steam.

Bon appetit
