I have an Oster, and like it, good results, easy to clean and much cheaper than fancy Japanese models. I've never used the express cycles or jam cooking, so I can't speak about them. I would avoid any model that makes vertical loaves as they are unwieldy, hard to slice or use. It's good to have shorter/longer mixing and rising cycles for white bread vs. whole wheat. It helps to fiddle with the recipe and add a little pure gluten to keep the loaves from collapsing as they cool.
