None are mention in the book, he really suggests just diving in and buying the most battered large caps.

Smith Barney did publish a report on countries that were negatively
correlated with the US during periods of rising interest rates (which does not necessarily apply now). Here are some of them, judge for yourself if you want to be there:

austria
denmark
italy
japan

brazil
china
india
czech republic
pakistan
poland
portgual
spain
korea (south)
taiwan
turkey

I have listed the countries for which there are webs and or closed end funds. ones not represented by those instruments

columbia
greece
jordan
peru
venezuela

none of them looked too good to me <G> - as they say, money can't hide from intensified fear
