They'd better hope they're right.. Because if decreased solar/sunspot activity ACTUALLY IS primarily responsible for climatic change (as I believe it is), they are all going to look rather stupid if we face another Maunder Minimum phase.

But that doesn't matter so long as they get the research money coming their way. They'll be in good company.
