I don't know if Clinton has it in him or not, I think the adminstration cannot possibly pick a better time to humble some of these other markets (e.g. Japan, HK) than right now when US economy is so strong. As John put it earlier "US markets have to lead the world markets out of this hole" and as we watch they've not done much to help. I think after all is said and done US will emerge as a stronger market leaving the others in their pains.

BTW, secretary of treasuary said market is over reacting, deficit is low, there is a very little chance of inflation in US. I think investors are too nervous to hear these attmpts to calm them down. With the circuit braker in place at market close and Hang Seng -12% and Nikkei -3% there will more selling tomorrow.
