Bank of America (BAC) says it raised $13.5B in less than two weeks by selling 1.25B shares at an average price of $10.77. Recently-released stress-test results found BofA needed another $33.9B. After selling a stake in China Construction Bank for $7.3B, it's now more than half way..People still scrambling to get BAC stock..More tales of total shutouts on people trying to get in on the BAC deal.. This deal is hugely important -- today is the last stand for the bears.

My new worker is look ing for houses. He described the bad shape that many foreclosed houses were left in. He figured 20-50K to fix up most of them. Maybe LOW and HD will benefit.

FPL announces it has agreed to sell $350 mln of equity common units to Credit Suisse Securities.

Kaufman is lowering their 2009 revenue and profit margin forecasts on evidence of a continued deterioration in the solar market. Firm says sources tell them that a lack of reasonable financing and shrinking subsidies are leading to a buildup of finished solar panels waiting to be installed. The firm says this is leading to a drop in demand for polysilicon, the raw material in the panels. Current prices are said to be below $70/kg.

WSJ reports passenger revenue on U.S. airlines fell by 18% in April compared with a year ago, marking the sixth consecutive month in which the key indicator has fallen as airlines battle with slumping demand for travel
