You're too hard on the sellers. They might be protecting some of this year's remaining gains. They might feel strongly that the market will
fall much further. We all act on our convictions. And not everyone
can stomach 30-50% losses [which tech stocks may routinely have
without company specific bad news.]
Remember that this selling is not driven by company valuation etc.
It is driven by fear only.

I'm holding all my stocks - but I don't feel good about it.
