Yes, I'm sure its a big issue. Heat loads take significant energy. So will the A/C. This is one reason why I don't take electric car proposals seriously. I don't think they will work until fuel cell technology evolves, and again NG is the right interim fuel as it is perhaps the right on-board evolution for fuel cells.

Another issue is IF we have the battery technology, now we have to supply that energy at the plug in a timely manner. Can you say peak KW?

The amount of energy in gasoline is more than most people realize. Its tough to substitute that, even if the efficiencies take a step change.

We have been very happy with our CNG Honda. At the peak of the fuel spike last year, we were saving $2.40/GGE. Just as important, we knew that should there be a supply interruption in gasoline, we would still have fuel and thus transportation.
