I had to run a bunch of errands today in areas I haven't been to in months. All I can say is that the "Green shoots" guys are so full of manure that their eyes must be brown! It is incredible how things have deteriorated in the last few months, and how much commercial real estate is up for lease. I thought it was bad a year ago but there is at least 50 percent more space available now than there was a year ago. Entire complexes for lease as well as retail vacancies everywhere. Shopping mall was virtually empty, as well as Lowes and Home Depot. At least the employees were genuinely helpful, and the guy even came out with me to my vehicle to help load it.

The lady who cut my hair told me her best friend, a carpenter, was about to lose his house to foreclosure. He had no money, no place to go, and was planning to live in his van. I sort of felt sorry for him until she told me that he didn't know what he was going to do with the FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS worth of tools in his garage!

I don't know what the "green shoots" guys are smoking, but they are most definitely on some kind of hallucinogenics.
