Hi tyke.. I guess each case is different.. In some cases I get a quick unexpected pop.. I cash it in.. Goes higher ? which just happened to me with PKI.UN .. well that's OK I made good money.. There is always another train.. Cash is OK :O) In a trending market ... the SPX as cash theory is good.. but I don't trust the market now... unless I'm paid to wait and even then I'm nervous.. a year's yield and more can be lost in a flash.. Just happened to me with SO a US utility.. I've seen profits run and then do a 180... little, is more depressing marketwise, IMO, than turning a double into a loss... I let the ferts run... but that market was different... Too many of my brethren flying the skies these days.. The Black Swan EDIT: I have left a lot of dough on the table in this last 9 weeks... so that I could sleep at night..
