Obama may be glad of the current crisis-as-opportunity but I am sure he is aware that continued bad times are very dangerous for any pol. Be the media as subservient as it may, there's still no telling when the guy in office starts to be blamed. Obama is never going to understand the economic engines of this country because he has been steeped in socialism all his life and has never once met a payroll in the private sector. That's what it takes. Look, even George McGovern went into private business for a while and now he's against card check.
