Do these guys really want to stake the future of this country on the good will and stability of Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Nigeria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc etc etc?

Or as Ben Affleck said to Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting

<I mean, you're sittin' on a winnin' lottery ticket. And you're too much of a pussy to cash it in, and that's bullshit.>

We've got right before us an easy way to stop importing oil. These shale NG quantities are so massive that we could easily soon be actually exporting LNG in addition to not relying on imported petroleum. Sure that is not totally 100% proved up, but these shale complexes have been consistently surprising way on the upside. They seem to always be containing more NG than anyone imagined. And they are discovering new ones. In the Marcellus they are hitting gusher after gusher. And it's the same story in the Haynesville.

What is wrong with these guys. Why don't they want to cash in this winning lottery ticket?

Maybe they are just thinking about too many other things, to realize what a gold mine we are sitting on. Or maybe it is because this will create American jobs but in Podunk places like West Virginia, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. Maybe this bunch of bicoastal billionaire jet setting elites just doesn't care about those kinds of jobs.

Can they really be that stupid or that uncaring?

It's called natural gas. It's clean. It's cheap. It's abundant. It's ours. And the choice is yours, guys.
