FEELINGS of entitlement that are outsized compared to what we actually deserve. Americans arrogantly believe that they deserve all the best things in life, without having to work for it.
see, this does confuse me, tho. I only know one person, of having known many a very poor person, who has ever been on 'welfare'. she was a divorced mother. she stayed on it two years while getting a degree, and that was that.
I know people who have terrible teeth. bad health. etc etc. until they are on medicare and/or ss age... they get squat. they get by. they work, they struggle, they make do. what 'entitlements' are you talking about? do you know these people who get these things? I don't. my granny when she got ss got around 300 a month. that's on par with most people I know who live that long.
what sense of 'entitlement'? I don't know know these people. who are they? I am thinking they are something of a myth.
I am 50. I have no health ensurance. I have never gotten a dime, nor asked for a dime, from the govt. I feel 'entitled' to nothing, tho I have paid in some money. If I live long enough I will get some health care and a few dollars a month. but I paid towards it. ain't no free lunch. in the meantime, the govt and anyone, especially middle class and beyond people with healthcare and retirement packages can kiss my sorry poor southern ass.
