I've done plenty of reading on SS and understand it intricately. When it was first created, it was not supposed to be such that today's workers paid for today's retirees. However, the more outflows outstrip inflows, that is precisely how it turns out. No program that doesn't match outflows to inflows is sustainable. SS in its current form is not sustainable, especially now that this country is broke. Something needs to change and the Dems need to come to the table and realize that. Obama already does and he's put forward some good ideas to make it solvent, but the far left doesn't want to compromise until the problem explodes. Seems reckless to me.
