The Alberta tar sands are a temporary mining situation and the land will be remedied and turned back into the frozen waste land it was before mining took place. Virtually nothing will change after it is mined out.

The windmills are forever in places where people have to look at them such as beside towns and cities.

The only people that look at the tar sands are driving big trucks and backhoes around in big pits to remove them so you hippy libber types can drive around in your Lexus and Mercedes 4 x 4's in the lower 48 looking at windmills and thinking how cool they are.
