The pedophile or even some whacko KKK marcher attacked by a crowd - he's a hater being attacked by haters

Even total assholes get equal protection under the law, or the law is meaningless. Only if the pedophile or Klansman is assaulted while assaulting a child or a black would their own views be a mitigating factor.
