Banking bailout was wrong, and, perversely, it's being taken back as everyone is now eager to pay back the TARP. The truth is, the Fed has no choice now but to monetize. The stimulus is a drop in the total government debt bucket, and is aimed at reducing unemployment, which is the main factor bankrupting the states now, I am sure. The SS/medicare reform is necessary, and will not be easy. The IOUs left in the fund are listed here. usdebtclock.org
