Gottfried,

Not only that, investors might even overrate China as an Asian economic power.

According to the Oct. 24, 1997 issue of Investor's Business Daily, page A1, in an article titled: "China: So What Is The Big Deal?", by Adrienne Fox...

- - "China is...a closed market."

- - "There's not much of a consumer market in China."

- - "China's market isn't all that great."

- - "Selling goods to China is hard to do."

- - "U.S. firms are... finding...too much red tape and too few sales."

- - "China's people...are extremely poor. They're not buying much of anything."

- - "The average yearly per-capita income for the rural population is $232."

- - "Urban incomes are only about $527 a year."

- - "Belgians buy more goods from us than the Chinese do."
