ElM, you and Arnold can read me if you and Arnold want some culture. <Go get some culture. Read Arnold J. Toynbee>I have plenty of culture thanks. Anyway, who the heck is Arnold Toynbee? Now my curiosity is piqued [or peeked or peaked as some say] and I shall toe the line [or tow the line as some think it is] and ask cuil.com about him.
Okay, that's enough of Arnold. As expected, it was a dead end. He's like stock market technical analysts who predict the future based on what share prices have done in the past. Meanwhile, some of us are creating the future which Arnold and co can later examine to see what happened.
That is not to say that what he wrote was wrong, just irrelevant, though this "citation required" quote makes me think he was not good at coming up with ideas for the future based on his studies of the past. On India: <The vast literature, the magnificent, opulence, the majestic sciences, the great realized should, the soul touching music, the awe inspiring gods. It is already becoming clearer that a chapter which has a western beginning will have to have an Indian ending if it is not to end in the self destruction of the human race. At this supremely dangerous moment in history the only way of salvation for mankind is the Indian way[citation needed]
-Dr. Arnold Toynbee >
India has been a study in poverty and not progress. Fortunately, we did not copy India, which is not to say that any Anglo country has reached the apotheosis of human existence. I find India more compatible with me than many aspects of life in NZ, USA, Canada, UK, Oz but overall, so far, NZ suits me better.
His was a study of barbarian cultures based on territorial alpha male tribal dominance hierarchies living on slavery and serfdom and kleptocratic, found and conquered wealth in genocidal Malthusian balance.
That is all so last millennia.
The new world is teleological mobile cyberspace floating in an aether of CDMA/OFDMA phragmented photons with peace, light, harmony, happiness, health, prosperity, longevity, fun and love. Watch young people, especially women, if you want to see the importance of mobile cyberspace.
That's enough of the new age culture for you. Now quit messing about in cyberspace and get back up the poles and do up some nuts. You can ruminate on it while you are up there.
