Krugman seems to be blaming the taxpayers in California for saying taxes are high enough. Apparently the idea of reducing the welfare state is not acceptable. It does not appear California is under taxing its workers relative to other states. The Californians seem to want it tall, services and low taxes. Which would you give up? Police, fire, schools, libraries?
