We did all of those monuments late at night the first time we went to WDC. We only had 36 hrs and got there around 6 that night. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and while laying around on the beds I decided we needed to get out and tour some stuff. I told my family we could sleep later, but since our time was limited we had to go see some history. Best evening we ever had. The monuments are beautiful at night. Also had........first time for me anyway.......a soft shell crab sandwich and pecan pie with whiskey sauce at a restaurant on Rt 7 once. WHAT A MEAL! Best lunch I ever had. I would love to see the battlefields you mentioned. All the restaurants on Rt 7
