Normally, other things being equal, they adopt the cultural norms that surround them, but it's not compulsory. It's called free will.

Heck, you can even find Protestant work ethic in the nooks and crannies of places like Brazil, though it's thin on the ground.

Racists think that characteristics of individuals are limited to the groups from which they arise, but individuals are unique [even identical twins experience life somewhat differently from each other so have unidentical outcomes, albeit very similar].
