Hi Allen, Welcome back. I may be mistaken, but seem to remember that there is an owner occupancy rule that allows owners to kick renters out so that they can move back into their own property. Update: a quick Google confirmation shows this is true in a number of states. In New York, however, there are additional hoops that an owner must go through if the tenant is in a protected class - seniors, handicapped. One of these is finding an equivalent property for the tenant. -cf
