Not quite. Although I know of no states where a popular referendum has made gay marriage legal, in Vermont and Maine have the state legislatures passed laws to allow and recognize it.

Just as a small point of clarification, your post seemed to indicate some confusion about Prop 8. A vote FOR Prop 8 was a vote to amend the California State Constitution to define marriage as being only between a man and a woman. A vote against it was, effectively, to allow a prior court ruling in favor of gay marriage to stand.

I, too, am appalled at the idea of publishing the names and addresses of people who supported Prop 8. Though I disagree with them, I don't believe they should be subjected to any sort of harassment. The good news is that, as far as I know, none of them have actually been victimized in that way.
