Tom,
Considering that a CD ROM at this point holds 640 MB, and flash is only at 32 MB, I don't see a flash device replacing music CDs for some time. And if you consider the enhanced CD's coming out......

Also, the Atmel flash devices are more expensive than other technolgies, because it essentially requires more gates on a device. Atmel often clouds the issue by saying it requires less room, because they use a finer technology. Keeping all things even, the Atmel flash will require more room, and I don't think will ever be cheaper than some of the other flash technogies out there.
