I think you and Josh are saying pretty much the same thing. I don't see Josh's position as being conflict avoidance. He just wants to get value for effort expended. Also, I think he wants to show the Democrats a more civilized way to treat SCOTUS nominees, because what they do really sucks.



It's time to stand for principles and that includes appropriate challenges to appointees, even if their approval is a foregone conclusion due to the numbers.

My guess is that the party will attract more followers if it maintains principles.
