david, investors follow two kinds of costs. one is gross and one is net. by saying the cost to make the part you are implying that you are talking gross cost.

gross cost can be below asps and mu can still lose money net.

so, by saying that mu's gross cost is below current asps you aren't really saying anything substantive. what we want to know is how much money will mu report and that is directly related to the net cost.

you still aren't clear b/c overhead is also required to make the parts.

btw, my longs took a bath, too. lost more % wise than mu and gtw. this bubble is still ine ffect. mu will fall for good in nov/dec. gtw may take another pre-announcement in 2 months or so. it is on the way as sure as the sun rises.
