The point is that 80% of my Federal tax is incurred in the last 40 hour of work.As I give 10% to charity I am already paying out about 52% of the last dollar earned( not including FICA).If I worked in a salaried position as a banker and made 500k-600k a year it would not likely effect my work decisions.In my situation it will make a differance.Why do you think Europe uses a VAT? It stimulates savings penalizes consumption and allows them to raise money without too much distortion of the incentive to work.The US has little option-bring it on!I am for a dollar a gallon additional fuel tax also.
