I notice that your whole post is about the source of the point, and doesn't address the point raised at all. Attack the source ignore the issue...

It doesn't matter if it was "a single Bush administration holdover" or a group of Obama appointees. The point is that raising the cost of energy does have an economic cost. And doing so to a large extent, esp. if its with extensive regulation of CO2 emitters, would have a very large economic cost.
