I'll ask you what's your point as well. I know that the ban expired back then (which is a good thing), but that has nothing to do with my post.

You asked - "why do they fight like hell when we try to ban assault weapons like the AK-47?"

I answered the question. The "assault weapons" ban didn't ban effect full autos much (they where already highly regulated), it banned weapons mostly based on cosmetic reasons. Both the weapons it did ban and the ones it did not where one trigger pull, one shot, weapons.


What surprised me is the reaction of the GM bondholders to the offer made to them. I guess they are willing to risk BK court in order to get some cash rather than an interest in a reconstituted GM.
