What nonsense. The relevant law is the law. The bankruptcy judge can favor the government or the UAW within the law, but bringing up the motivation of the lender as the primary metric for deciding the case is just asinine.

If the government wants to do charity, let it do charity. Give the UAW whatever it wants straight out of its own pocket. Alternatively, take over Chrysler completely and handle its debts and obligations like any other owner.
