The reported revision caused the stocks for May 15, 2009 to change from 2,116 Bcf to 2,107 Bcf. This revision has no impact upon the implied net change reported for the week ending May 22, 2009. The implied net change between the weeks ending May 08 and May 15 changed from 103 Bcf to 102 Bcf.
Historical working gas levels for the weeks ending May 1, 2009 and May 8, 2009 also were revised to reflect resubmissions of data. Stocks for the week ending May 1, 2009 were changed from 1,918 to 1,911 Bcf, and stocks for the Week ending May 8, 2009 were changed from 2,013 to 2,005 Bcf.
These changes resulted from resubmissions of data from one or more respondents.
Summary:
Working gas in storage was 2,213 Bcf as of Friday, May 22, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 106 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 524 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 393 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,820 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 60 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 61 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 238 Bcf above the 5-year average of 662 Bcf after a net injection of 30 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 95 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 15 Bcf. At 2,213 Bcf, total working gas is above the 5-year historical range.
