Eric,
I've decided not to add to my MRVC at this time. BUT!, only because I'm not comfortable increasing my margin debt right now.
Not long ago, 20% of my portfolio was margin. I wanted to keep it somewhat low to allow me to buy when the correction hit. Now, in the midst (hopefully end) of the correction, my margin stands at 29% of my account.
This isn't terribly high either, but I don't like getting too deep in margin debt.
Anyway, I bought my current shares at $27 only a few months ago, so the current prices aren't such a bargain "relative" to that.
I am debating whether to redistribute my holdings. I like to own a basket of these stocks to protect against any one dropping hard. Right now I own CSCO, COMS, CS, and MRVC. I already sold BAY a while back, and I sold half the CS on Friday. I tried to sell the rest of the CS today at $30, but no takers.
I'm also considering selling my Parametric Technology (PMTC) to free up cash. I still like it (recently added shares too), but I see other companies with more upside potential right now.
At the same time, I feel like I need to just kick back and forget about my investments for a while. Friday, I bought some Altera at $45, and it's already down $5. Today I bought CFMT at the open at $23.25, and it fell to $18 "today". I'm just worsening the pain.
Best of luck.
By the way, I hate that &%#@, %*@%^, F_____g Hang Seng stock market! I could care less! Why does anyone else?
Oh my God, the stock market's going to open in 9 hours. I need a vacation.
