I agree it is not too late. In fact, one of the key reasons that Obama was elected is his stance on renewable energy. Americans overwhelming want the US to move towards energy independence. In addition, most Americans are pretty practical when it comes to what that means. They want to drill everwhere, use NG, use nuclear, AND increase our renewable energy sources. This is a no brainer. Continuing to be dependent on the Middle East, Russia, and Venezuela for our oil needs is as stupid as we can be.

So the American people have already spoken and the reality is that we have a much better chance of getting there with Obama and the Dems in power than the GOP, which has historically been very pro-oil and coal to the exclusion of all else. We only have to look to the last 8 years to see the evidence of that.
