Verizon is going to pick up the Palm Pre too. That would give Palm alot more visibility to meet sufficient volumes going into 2010. Palm could end up being the iPhone equivalent for Sprint and Verizon. Not sure what happens if Apple moves away from ATT, but Palm should have some cell phones ready for ATT next year too.

All I know is that all of the US handset companies are going to take away alot of market share from Samsung and Sanyo, which have failed to make a decent handset in a long time. My Instinct is ready to go. Maybe the US can reclaim it's own market share for cell phones.
