GM >>And the media are fanning the fire with their 'news specials'.<<

They've been prepping this fear for a while now, this is sensationalism
at it's best.

Let's see how's it working -- Europe is down because HK is down
because Wall Street is down causing HK to go down more causing Europe to go down etc etc.
Wall Street is going to have to have the balls to stop the slide.

Somehow I get the feeling that this has more to do with the Chinese
than with the actual fundamentals of the situation. I can't believe that all of a sudden the Asian countries are going to stop growing. Sure a couple of small Asian countries overextended and their currency had to devalue but to me this doesn't warrant such a drastic move in the markets.
I can't help but feel that if the Brits were still in charge that this HK thing wouldn't be happening.
Could be all wrong but get this uneasy feeling about China and HK.

Let's take a closer look at East Asia market: Most are 3rd-world countries with GDP less than MSFT or INTC's market cap. How much percentage of US high-tech companies' revenue is from that corner of the world anyway?
