I can't believe that I am the only person to recommend your excellent post. It was beyond my imagination to extrapolate the success with the Barnett Shale to the rest of the United States, and I do not recall anyone else speculating that the technique could be applied to huge formations underlying the Appalachian Plateau and elsewhere. The whole energy picture in the United States has changed. I wish there were space in a Prius for a CNG tank but I am afraid there would have to be a whole new vehicle designed. Are there any ventures under way aimed at converting natural gas to gasoline? I think I remember reading that it would be economical when oil was over $50 a barrel.
