Amati Moves to Larger Facility

Consolidates Operations Into One Building

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 1996-- Amati Communications Corp
announced it has moved to a new 40,000-square-foot facility in San Jose, Calif., allowing the
company to accommodate its recent growth and to consolidate engineering and manufacturing in a
single facility.

The move comes less than a year after Amati merged with ICOT, a provider of network
connectivity systems for the internetworking and OEM markets. The new company, combining the
LAN technologies of ICOT and the ADSL expertise of Amati, has increased personnel by more
than 40 percent since the November merger.

Previously, Amati occupied offices in Mountain View, Calif., while ICOT headquarters were in San
Jose.

"This move is another step in demonstrating our growth from an organization primarily focused on
research and development to a complete manufacturing supplier," said Jim Steenburgen, president
and CEO of Amati.

In addition to increases in operations floor space and increased office space for research, the new
building has a number of state-of-the-art features for multimedia presentations and customer
training.

The new address for Amati Communications is 2043 Samaritan Drive, San Jose, CA, 95124;
telephone 408/879-2000; fax 408/879-2900

Amati is a leading developer of advanced transmission equipment utilizing DMT technology for
the ADSL, Very High-Speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) and cable modem markets. Amati
is the holder of the ADSL/DMT patents and has licensed the technology to companies such as
Nortel, Motorola and NEC. The company is also a provider of network connectivity systems for
the internetworking and OEM marketplaces. Amati can be reached on the World Wide Web at:
