WHY have no other reporters (or whatever they call themselves these days) tried to pin down Obama on EXACTLY how the Government thinks they will make a profit on GM....?????

Private Companies have a Business Plan. It's not a few sentences of wishful thinking. Nor is it pie in the sky. It is a concrete actual working plan on how the company expects to be profitable, and how long the owners plan it will take. WHERE IS THE GOVERNMENT PLAN? Since we are the majority owners, why have we not seen such a plan?

It's nice that O and wife are having a date weekend. But how much does that cost us?

I remember the long weeks and LONGER weekends of making business plans that would have a possibility of working. We haven't seen a single plan for this GM debacle to date. We have seen not a shred of evidence that the Administration is doing anything about real honest to goodness energy for our cars, no matter what kind we buy. Does anyone think they will stuff pinwheel/windmills into the gas tanks of the little cars? Or do they think they will stuff a solar panel into the little car?

And if the Government thinks they can charge $4 a gallon, they might be wise to remember the spring, summer, and fall of 2008 when the economy started to fall apart.

And then Obama was elected......and the economy fell to the earth, got squished, and stayed flat for sometime TBD in the future. Maybe.

In other words, the answer to the question whether GM will ever become "consistently profitable" is no. How about occasionally profitable? I thnk the answer is no. How about profitable? I think the answer is no. If a reporter for Time can say it (almost), surely it's past time to point out that the Emperor is wearing no clothes rather than celebrating the Emperor's wife
