I think you're right on that point about black box label and let the patient choose. (I think this IS the most likely outcome) Most of them are already in terminally miserable state anyway...

Now about option play,

IF, that is a big IF, the stock will be surely either over $10 or under $1.50 after 16th,

in this case, buying both 7.5 call and 5 put call makes a lot of sense. Perhaps I should cover short options around 10th and go long...
