Russia; Well Russia is buying GM's Opal. But GM had freedom of capitalism like they have never had before under Bush and they failed. That isn't Obama's fault. And to suggest it is the workers fault is just completely silly. .....Opel! THat part of GM that survived Hitler, fascism and WWII couldn't survive economics of the republicans led by Bush. That's not "political rah-rah", that's fact.

China; I suspect you are correct that China becomes an economic powerhouse, so our job should be to do what we can to compete. We aren't going to compete with China in making cheap plastic crap sold at WalMart and why should we try? We need to compete by increasing the efficientcy of our infrastructure. We need to compete by revamping and improving our education system, we need to compete by reducing our energy dependence on third world countries that hate us and we need to compete by encouraging the new economy ideas such as new energy and biotech. We can compete in these high value economies - but we haven't tried until now. Time to try! Now if you think it is "political rah-rah" to argue what is important to America's future to compete in the world - then I'm guilty.
