Yes it does, a safe guess would be well over 50% of homes could be reached from a CO or fairly easy remote site without any change to the pairs themselves. The US alone has over 100 million homes with pairs and probably 4 to 5 times this many world wide. At $500 for the equipment the world wide market potential is about (500 x 250,000,000) = 125 Billion or more. Don't forget however that ADSL bandwith is not very good for high rate services and FTTC/VDSL is the more attractive mass market for full build outs. ADSL will be used for overlays and spot coverages. Both technologies will share the total market in some yet to be determined ratio but with numbers this large, all reasonably succesful FTTC/VDSL/ADSL equipment makers should do ok. One product that offers all three is possibly the most attractive.
