"Never mind the fact that we had already entered WWII before Pearl Harbor was attacked." We were officially neutral until then. Now, we did institute Lend-Lease prior to our official entry, but we also were still selling arms and other goods to the Nazis until rather late in the game. In addition, we did provide protection for British convoys in the North Atlantic. But that was as much to help our trade than anything else. So it is a bit much to claim we had already entered the war. What we did was protect our economic interests.
