FDR had rt wing isolationists and anti-semites to contend with. Today its left wing isolationists and anti-zionists (thats what they call themselves). What makes it easier for obama is that these folks with these silly ideas on FP love obama and he will have an easier time bringing them along that FDR may have had. With FDR we actually took a hit at Pearl. After last weeks debate on korea, i think guys like JF and Ted would take a nuke hit on seattle, which would disrupt the supply of premium coffee, before they would take Kim serously. In these days of assymetric warfare. little guys sometimes can do much damage. You dont need the Japanese fleet to cause great damage in SK and Japan. In five years, maybe a missile aimed at Seattle will make it with no anti missile defense and no will to deter and contain Kim.
