Within months in Flint in 1942, GM halted all car production and immediately used the assembly lines to build planes, tanks and machine guns. Um, GM knew the Army would buy all it produced and the Feds would pay for it. Mr. Moore wants the Feds to cover the country in train tracks in a similar fashion. Here's a small problem: the hairshirt environmental lobby, you know the one that Obama is in hock to, absolutely forbids all major construction projects. It would be an interesting 'clash of the titans' if Obama did decide to use his new pet companies in this fashion. The parts would get made, but would any new rail systems actually get built?
