Look, murder is a legal construct. That ignorant people do not understand that is a given, but it doesn't make people magically not ignorant. I cannot give the ignorant much respect. Being stupid can be genetic, being ignorant often seems to be a choice- but it is not a choice I respect. So of course it's based on semantics. That is what the law is- "words". But in a legal sense, the words matter. What people "feel" they can try to put into law, but just because they "feel" something should be murder doesn't make it so- not until it is the law. And it was the law for a while, and what a mess that was. Like prohibition, it's not really something I want to return to.
