Miles, I suggest you do a little more research before you offer misleading and misinformed opinions.

--First of all I suggest you investigate the difference between an ATM switch and a WDM "switch" as you put it.

<< Lucent has given Yurie its seal of approval when it became an OEM'r ("Virtually" everyone has given Ciena their seal of approval; and Lucent & Cisco are working on WDM). >>

Lucent didn't make any minimum purchase agreement with YURI. Cisco may well be working on WDM but I've never seen anything made public that confirms this. Even so, what is your point? So what if Lucent and Cisco are working on WDM? Does that mean that no little companies will benfefit from the surge for WDM?

<< POCI may well succeed assuming they have state of the art and/or next generation technology, ...
Besides, you could wait for them to get the seal of approval from a major and still make a lot of money. >>

They already have. POCI is supplying thin-films to Lucent (the same MAJOR that you were just latching that over-priced bloated stock YURI to).

Please provide me a reference re: Cisco and WDM. I would be interested to read it...
