Point taken. But I never really believed it was the cost of the machine that mattered. Its the cost of the data the machine looks after and the cost of down time that make this type of peripheral a no-brainer for the IT manager/buyer.

And don't worry about people buying cheaper machines. Yes, the cost per MIP and storage always goes down but software companies make sure that it all gets sucked up by 'hundreds of new features' every time a new Rev comes out. Sometimes I wonder if the memory companies are actually owned by software companies.

Bigger cheaper drives? Bigger risk.
